January 22 Update

2021 NIHJA RULE CHANGES

All of the suggested rule changes have been approved by the membership. The following rules will be in place for the 2021 Show Season.

  1. The Open Jumper division will be called the Schooling Jumpers with fence height not to exceed 2’6″. 
  1. The institution of a Puddle Jumper division with fence height not to exceed 2’3″. Horse/rider combination may cross enter into the 2’6″ Schooling Jumper and the 2’9″ Low Jumper divisions. 
  1. If a division does not fill with 3 riders (Equitation) or 3 horses (Hunter) and are listed in the NIHJA Rule Book under Combining Divisions they MUST be combined with the exception of the Long Stirrup, Rusty Stirrup and Beginner Adult divisions. 
  1. The Junior Amateur Jumper division will now be renamed High Training Jumper to allow professionals to compete in this 3’3″ jumper division.

January 14 Update

Congratulations to all our members receiving 2020 NIHJA Year End Awards! You should all be proud of yourselves for all your efforts and achievements throughout the season.

We have uploaded the list of the NIHJA 2020 Year End Award recipients to our Awards tab and would again like to thank you all for your support of our horse shows and adhering to all the COVID restrictions to make our 2020 season actually happen. 


Trophies, ribbons and prizes will be delivered to rider’s barn affiliations in the coming weeks or trainers can make arrangements to pick up their barn’s awards at Palatine Stables.

We look forward to seeing you at the 2021 NIHJA Horse Shows!
